Alan Ray Woodard, 74, of Amarillo, Texas passed away on Friday, September 5, 2025 surrounded by his beloved family. He was born in Hale Center, Texas on October 6, 1950 to Garlin Hubert Woodard and Frances Marie (May) Woodard. Alan was a life long resident of Amarillo and a proud Palo Duro Don, where he was a 2X runner up District Wrestler.

He was a Skilled Carpenter working for Bell helicopter and Northwest Texas Hospital where he retired after 25+ years. Alan loved anything outdoors from hunting, fishing, camping and going to the lake. He cherished spending time with his family and looked forward to going on trips, especially the Big Utah Trip. Alan cherished his dogs, Obie and Slinky.

Alan was wild and crazy as a young man always doing something and helping someone. He was always the light that lit up the room and everyone's friend. He was the one everybody loved to be around "Uncle Al the kiddie pal" and sometimes" Dad" by the children's friends. Alan would always make sure his lawn was in tip top shape and come Christmas the lights went up and it was a Griswald Christmas.
Alan fiercely battled Liver Cancer for almost 45 months. The family would like to express their gratitude to Baylor Scott and White (Oncology and Transplant Team), Texas Oncology, High Plains Senior Care Hospice Team, especially Roxie, Martha, Stacey, Kendra, Lisa and Monica.
Family mattered the most to Alan, he will be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, dad, brother, uncle, papa and friend.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 38 years, Linda Woodard; parents, Frances and Garlin Hubert Woodard; two brothers, Dennis Woodard and Steven Woodard and a niece, Whitney Woodard.

Alan is survived by three daughters, Monica Woodard and husband Shannon Keadle, Shae Mendez and husband Anthony and Shanon Davis; two sons, John Woodard and wife Misty and Nick Woodard; sister, Lori Jones and husband Mike; two brothers, Frank Woodard and wife Lee and David Woodard and wife Penny; sister-in-law, Jeannie Woodard and 11 amazing grandchildren, Abbey, Brennan, Shelby. Jakob, Bailey, Ethan, Avery, Ky, Nate, Shyloe and Austin.
