Alex was born on September 26, 1960, in Muleshoe, TX, to Felis Fuentes and Rosa Garcia. He entered into eternal life on January 13, 2025, at the age of 64.

He is survived by his father, Felis Fuentes of Dumas, TX; his fiance, Betty Ruiz of Hereford; his stepfather, Randy Dial of Roy, UT; five brothers: Eloy Fuentes of Amarillo, TX, Jerry Fuentes and Ruben Fuentes both of Roy, UT, Felix Dial and his wife, Courtney Dial of Layton, UT, and Eddie Dial and his wife, Melissa Dial of Roy, UT; one sister, Patricia Olesky of Hurricane, UT; his ex-wife, Susana Arguijo of Amarillo, TX; two daughters, Alexis Zambrano and Valarie Fuentes, both of Amarillo, TX; four step-children: Pricilla Arguijo and her husband, Omar Pena of Dimmitt, TX, Sonya Urias and her husband, Johnny Urias of Lubbock, TX, Casey Arguijo and her husband, Ray Loza of Amarillo, TX, and Michael Arguijo of Amarillo, TX; and countless nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Rosa Dial, and his brother-in-law, Joe Olesky.
Celebration of Life services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 17, 2025, at New Life Church. The family will receive visitors from 5:00-9:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at Shafer Mortuary Funeral Home.
