Antonio Avila Mendoza, 83, of Amarillo, Texas passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2024. He was born on January 17, 1941 in Saucillo Chihuahua, Mexico to Fernando Avila and Maria del Refugio Mendoza.

Antonio was a member of the Special Forces in The Mexico Army, before coming to The United States. He loved farming and ranching, especially working for The Daniels family at The Seven Bar Cattle Company for 37 years. Antonio was a very simple man, who was family orientated with strong values.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Valerio, his parents, sons and many extended family.

Antonio is survived by a daughter, Marie Avila; three sons, Antonio Avila and wife Maria, Jesse Avila and Fernando Avila; grandchildren, Antonio Avila Jr., Jacob Avila, Myah Avila, Jacob Aceves, Alazay Aceves, Nayeli Avila and many more not listed and his extended family, Gary and Cheryl Daniel, Vicki Aaron, Leticia Cisneros, Erin Garza, Jordan Williamson, Geno Garcia, Fernando Covarrubias, Amaka Nwokedi, Monica Amburn, Tiffany Bounsing, Theresa Webster, Stephanie Armendariz, Juanita Duran and Isabel Lopez.
