It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear friend and beloved community member, Barbara Barnett, who left us on June 8, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on September 22, 1957, in Borger, TX, Barbara brought joy, laughter, and kindness to everyone she met.
A proud graduate of Borger High School, Barbara spent 15 successful years as a customer service professional at AIG. However, it wasn't just her career that defined her; her true passion lay in serving her community and her faith. Barbara was a devoted member of the Borger Trinity Church of the Nazarene, where she made a profound impact as a missionary director, church bus driver, and children's church teacher. Her love for the younger generations extended beyond the church walls as she also served as a Girl Scout leader, encouraging girls to be brave and adventurous.
In the early '80s, Barbara shared her vibrant spirit as a DJ for KQTY, where she had a blast connecting with listeners. A talented singer, she was proud to be a member of the Frank Phillips Community Choir and had the honor of performing at Carnegie Hall not once, but twice. Her incredible voice also graced the church choir, filling hearts with joy and inspiration.
Barbara was a cat lover, caring for her eight feline companions with endless love and affection. Known for her spirited personality, she frequently reminded us, "Why be normal?" — a mantra that perfectly captured her fun-loving nature. Her favorite color was green, a reflection of her vibrant spirit and love for life.
She is survived by 3 daughters, Christina Baker of Borger, TX, Catherine Hollings and husband Jessie of Ludowici, GA and Candice Haynes and husband Eron of Borger, TX; son, Robert Delay and wife Christina Hart of Stinnett, TX; brother, John Moore and wife, Suzanne of Borger, TX; 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde A. and Ilse Moore; sister, Bonnie Moore; brother, Scott Moore and husband Michael Barnett.
Rest in peace, Barbara. You will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
