Barbara Ann Martin, 74, of Amarillo passed away on December 16, 2024. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. December 20, 2024 at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Viewing and visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 19, 2024 at Shafer Mortuary Services Funeral Home.

Barbara was born on December 16, 1950 in York, SC to Jesse and Betty Smith. She was raised in Fort Mill, SC, where she attended schools. In 1974, Barbara took a bus Oklahoma to meet Jerry Martin for the first time, set-up by her sister Betty. The two of them were married just a few days later, and spent the next 50 years together. Together, they enjoyed fishing and watching the many movies, collected over the years. Barbara devoted her life to being a homemaker, caring for her husband and children. She enjoyed crocheting and caring for her potted plants in her free time, as she was able.

She is survived by her husband Jerry Martin, Sr. of Amarillo; daughter, Lynne Nooner of Clovis, NM; 2 sons, James "Pete" Mitchell and wife Rebecca of and Jerry Martin, Jr. and wife Donna of Knoxville, TN; 3 sisters, Marie Blackwell and husband Herman of Fort Mill, SC, Betty Honeycutt and husband Lawrence of Lancaster, SC and Betty Jean Hensley of Rockhill, SC; 2 brothers, Jesse Smith, Jr. and wife Wanda of Rockhill, SC and Roger Smith of Fort Mill, SC; 8 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and 2 sisters, Laura and Jane.
