Obituary

Billy "Winston" Gene Churchill, 70, of Amarillo, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026. He was born on December 17, 1955, and lived a life defined by love of family, devotion to country, and loyalty to friends.

Winston proudly served in the United States Army, carrying with him a deep sense of patriotism and honor throughout his life. His service to his country was a source of pride, and he exemplified strength, humility, and dedication both in uniform and at home.

A simple man at heart, Winston found his greatest joys in the quiet moments—casting a fishing line into still waters, spending time with his beloved little dog, Roxy, and enjoying the comfort of his home. Above all, he cherished his wife, Beverly Churchill. Their life together was filled with love, laughter, and steadfast companionship. Home was wherever Beverly was, and he treasured every moment they shared.

Winston was well known around Amarillo for his friendly spirit and genuine nature. He had many friends who will remember his warm smile, easy conversation, and unwavering loyalty. He was the kind of man you could count on—a steady presence and a true friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his loving wife, Beverly Churchill; his son, Monty Wells and wife Beverly; and his sister, Pat Ryan. His family was his pride and joy, and he leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and quiet integrity.

Winston will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those he loved so dearly.
