Billy Lee Spruill, a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2026, in Amarillo, Texas. Born on August 29, 1935, in Austin, Texas, Billy lived a full and meaningful life, filled with love, family, and cherished moments.
Billy was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Daisy Spruill; two sons, Danny and Tommy Spruill; son-in-law, Ronnie Beard; daughter-in-law, Diane Spruill; brother, "Sonny" Spruill; and sisters, Dorothy and Marie. He was also preceded by his parents, Frank and Carrie Spruill.
He is survived by his daughters, Virginia Beard and Barbara Ferguson, along with her husband Larry; son, Billy Spruill and his wife Delores; and daughter-in-law, Robin Spruill. Billy leaves behind an enduring legacy of love, reflected in the lives of his fifteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren, and twenty great-great-grandchildren.
Billy and Daisy were united in marriage on July 6, 1953, and together they built a family grounded in love and support. Prior to his retirement, Billy was a dedicated residential and industrial painter, known for his skill and craftsmanship. He had a passion for trading cars, enjoyed watching Western movies, and took great joy in the company of his children and grandchildren. Additionally, he had a well-known love for good food.
A memorial graveside service to honor Billy's life will be held at Llano Cemetery on July 22, 2026, at 11:00 AM. The family invites all who knew and loved Billy to join in celebrating the remarkable life he lived and the cherished memories he leaves behind.
Billy Lee Spruill will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
