It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brandon Scott Massey, born on April 22, 1983, in Dennison, TX. Brandon left this world on February 6, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, kindness, and love.
Brandon moved to Post, TX, as a child and graduated from high school in 2002. He proudly served in the United States Navy, showing the dedication and courage that defined his life, until his honorable discharge. On June 19, 2021, he married the love of his life, Crystal Alaway, in Lubbock, TX. Together, they shared a passion for thrifting and enjoying movie nights, building a life filled with joy and adventure.
This past year, Brandon took a significant step in his life by getting baptized, a testament to how important his faith was to him. He often spoke about the strength and guidance he found in his beliefs, and his dedication to them inspired those around him.
Those who knew Brandon would describe him as funny, happy, and always impeccably neat – a testament to his military upbringing. He had a big heart and was a proud veteran, and his love extended to the three bonus children he cherished deeply. Brandon enjoyed fishing and golfing. He would often spend time outdoors, creating lifelong memories with his family Bear and Don.
He is survived by his wife, Crystal Massey of Amarillo; parents, Bear and Judy Ramirez of Levelland and Greg and Angela Massey of Post; bonus children, Rebecca Vaquera, Peyton Vaquera and Aaliyah Duggan; sisters, Hayley Mason and husband Tye of Slaton and Kristen Bradshaw and husband Neal of Post; grandmother, Glenda Howard of Lubbock; bonus parents, Don and Loretta Alaway; sister-in-law, Sarah Alaway of Willis, TX; brother-in-law, Joe Alaway and wife Lori of Lubbock, TX and nieces and nephews, Claire, Briley, Lilly, Ayden, Ryan, Myles and Sydney.
