Carrie Susan Bridgewater, a vibrant spirit and loving soul, passed away on May 12, 2026, in Amarillo, Texas, at the age of 55. Born on March 17, 1971, in Rochester, New York, Carrie was a cherished daughter of Jose Santiago and Constance Paparo. She spent her formative years in West Los Angeles, California, where her passion for life and creativity flourished.
A dedicated mother and wife, Carrie attended The Notre Dame Academy in high school and went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing and English from Southern New Hampshire University. Known for her selflessness and kindness, she was a beacon of love to her family. Carrie had a rich tapestry of life experiences; she was a punk rocker and a great singer who loved expressing her creativity through writing. Her love of literature was matched only by her adoration of her country home, Harley rides and spending time at the beach. Carrie cherished family time with her husband, John Bridgewater, and their beloved daughters, Lilith Paparo and Noelle Garcia, along with her stepdaughter, Jessie Bridgewater.
Carrie was preceded in death by her beloved grandparents, Margaret and Norman Paparo, and her father, Jose Santiago. She is survived by her devoted husband John, her two daughters, Lilith Paparo and Noelle Garcia and stepdaughter, Jessie Bridgewater; five half-sisters—Cheryl, Sherry, Julie, Linda, and Cassie—one half-brother, Joseph Michael, and her loving mother and stepfather, Constance P. Lynch and Alfred P. Lynch. In addition to her human family, Carrie leaves behind two adoring cats— Diablo and Noche.
A true Piscean at heart, Carrie had a playful spirit and a profound love for Disney, embodying joy and wonder throughout her life. Her positivity and her dedication to her family will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
