Charolette Jean Elliot,formerly of Ulysses, KS, died at the age of 88 on Wednesday, July 29th, 2026, in Amarillo, TX. She was born on August 15, 1937 in Wichita, KS, the daughter of Merle "Zip" and Fern Baker.

Charolette graduated from Wichita East High School in 1955. She continued her education at St. Joseph School of Nursing, Wichita, KS, and St. Mary of the Plains, Dodge City, KS, graduating and receiving her RN diploma in 1958. Following graduation she worked at the Sedgwick County Clinic and Wichita Clinic Pediatrics before moving to Ulysses, KS in 1966. In Ulysses she worked for Snooks Veternary Clinic, Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital, Dr. Brewer's Clinic and Ulysses Family Physicians before retiring in 2000. She was a member of Jr. Civics, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and EMS.

She was preceded in death by her parents, infant daughter and son, daughter Kelly Carnahan and sister Carolyn Whiteker. She is survived by her daughter Kimberly (Darren) Russett of Amarillo, TX, as well as grandsons Erik Russett of Ulysses, KS and Jordan Russett of Amarillo, TX.

Family and friends were everything to her and always remained number one in her heart and life.The love she had for her grandsons, daughters and son-in-law was immeasurable. She cherished the many summers spent with them and close friends at her cabin in Westcliffe, CO. Her four legged grand pups also held a very special place in her heart.

Graveside service and interment will be announced at a later date and will take place at Grant County Cemetery in Ulysses, KS. Memorial contributions may be given to Furever Friends of Grant County, 123 W Central Ave, Ulysses, KS 67880.

Services have been entrusted to Shafer Mortuary Services of Amarillo, TX.
