It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Connie Velasquez's passing on June 10, 2025, just a few days after celebrating her 73rd birthday. Born on June 4, 1952, in Groom, TX, Connie moved to Stinnett as a child and later settled in Panhandle, TX, where she proudly graduated high school.
Connie had a remarkable career, starting out at Levi Strauss and then working as a clerk in an insurance agency. However, her true passion shone through during her many years as a Special Education para-professional with the River Road Independent School District, a role that brought her immense joy and fulfillment.
Connie leaves behind her loving husband, Milton Velasquez, son, Alphabet Velasquez, daughter, Bluejeans Reeves and husband Dustin; grandson, Thomas Reeves and his girlfriend, Gracie Warrilow, all of Amarillo; her 3 beloved dogs, Gooseman, Lilly and Minnie; brother, Darrell Ogletree of Lubbock; sister, Anita Warren of Amarillo along with countless friends and family members who will forever cherish her warm spirit. She was not just a wife; she was a devoted mother, a dedicated grandma, a caring sister, and a wonderful aunt, great aunt who always had a kind word and a loving smile for everyone.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Irene Josephine Ogletree; father, Herman Doyle Ogletree; sisters, Judy Derr and Juanita Ward and brother-in-law, Don Warren.
Connie will be greatly missed, but her spirit will live on in our hearts forever.
