Curtis was born on December 28, 1941 in Foard City, TX to Louis and Nancy Stone. He was raised in Crowell, TX. He proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1960, serving in the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged in 1964. He worked as a water well driller and master mechanic most of his life. His family knew him to be hardworking and talented in all he did.

Curtis is survived by his 2 sons, Curtis Dwayne Stone of Crook, CO and Randall Scott Stone of Atoka, OK; daughter, Carla Sue Hill of Amarillo; 2 sisters, Ruth Donges and husband Randy of Dalhart and Marilyn Ainsworth and husband Joe of Electra, TX and grandchildren, C.J. Lacey, Tulley Hill and Tucker Hill, all of Amarillo, Amanda McClelland of Wichita, KS, and Waylon Stone and Will Stone of Atoka, OK.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, John Stone and Thomas Stone and his sister, Dorothy Mullanax.
