In Loving Memory of Cynthia Elizabeth Love Holloway
Cynthia Elizabeth Love Holloway, lovingly known as Cindy, went home to be with the Lord on October 3rd, 2026, while receiving hospice care at the home of her daughter, Cheri Leeth, in Amarillo, Texas. She was 92 years old.
Cynthia was born on April 1, 1934, in Fort Worth, Texas, and was one of eight children. She attended Polytechnic High School, where she played the clarinet.
Cynthia married Paul Francis Holloway, and together they raised their three daughters, Paula, Cheri, and Diana. The family first lived in Arlington before moving to Hurst, where Cynthia lived in the same home for 62 years. Near the end of her life, she lived in a senior community facility in North Richland Hills before moving to Cheri’s home in Amarillo.
After her children were older, Cynthia returned to school and earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Texas Wesleyan University, graduating summa cum laude. She later became a Certified Public Accountant.
Cynthia shared her knowledge with others through her work at Tarrant County Junior College, now Tarrant County College. She served as a teacher and laboratory instructor in the Accounting Department for approximately 10 years and later became director of the department, a position she held until her retirement.
Her Christian faith was central to her life. Cynthia was a devoted member of Shady Oaks Baptist Church in Hurst for approximately 60 years. Over the years, she served the church in many roles, including church secretary, treasurer, and payroll administrator. Her favorite role was teaching the Adult 1 Sunday School class, which she faithfully taught for more than 30 years.
Cynthia loved the Lord and remained devoted to Bible study, worship, and her church family for as long as she was able. She was a beloved church member, teacher, and friend whose faith and kindness touched many lives.
Cynthia is survived by her daughters, Paula Priest, Cheri Leeth, and Diana Hudson; her son-in-law, Dennis Hudson; her grandchildren, Brennan Priest and his wife, Erin, Shannon Strawn and her husband, Matt, Heather Pelton and her husband, Sean, and Hawke Patterson; and her great-grandchildren, Avery and Jack Strawn and Corlin Priest. She is also survived by her brother, David Love; her sister, Barbara Bizzarri; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Francis Holloway; her grandson, Cary Leeth; her grandson-in-law, Travis Patterson, husband of her granddaughter Hawke; her brothers, Joe Love and James Love; and her sisters, Christine Rogers, Judy Bransford, and Nancy Newsome.
A memorial service will be held at Shady Oaks Baptist Church in Hurst, Texas. Service details will be announced. Cynthia will be laid to rest alongside her husband, Paul, in the columbarium at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.
Cynthia will be remembered for her deep faith, her love for her family, her dedication to education, and her many years of service to her church and community.
