Dale Eugene Johnson, 69, of Hereford, Texas passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2026. He was born on September 6, 1956, in Hereford, Texas to Hollis Edward Johnson and Billie Sue Ragland.

Dale grew up and attended school in Amarillo, Texas. Dale married Kay on December 20, 1986, and they shared 15 years of marriage, until her passing on November 16, 2002. He had the heart of a cowboy, hardworking and honest and gentle. Dale rode pens for years, before finding his niche in commercial truck driving. Dale dedicated himself to truck driving until his retirement. He loved the fast side of life and if you got in the truck with Paw Paw you better hold on tight! You could always hear him coming from a mile away, reviving his engine and screeching his tires. He had a heart of gold and a love like no other. Dale was a lifelong friend that you would never forget. He loved his family deeply and worked hard to be the best provider. Dale taught us how to do everything from tie our shoes to change a starter on a Chevy pickup truck. He loved horses and was an avid Dallas Cowboy and John Wayne fan.

Dad fought hard to the very end. He will forever be cherished by his family, friends and his beloved blue heelers; Blue and Bandit. Dale's legacy of love and hard work will live on through us all. We will continue to pass on Paw Paw's ole sayings, so if you know Dale then you know what those are. Dale's family will continue to pas those on to each generation that follows. The family finds peace that Dale and Kay are finally together.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Homer Sr. and Ethel Ragland; his parents, Hollis Edward Johnson and Billie Sue Ragland; beloved wife, Kay and a brother, David Ray Johnson.

Dale is survived by a daughter, Chelsea Johnson; a son, Shane Johnson; three sisters, Gayle Bowman, Donna Johnson and Peggy Esnar and one brother, Lester Johnson; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
