David was born on July 6, 1945 in Kalamazoo, MI to Gerald and Beatrice Blease. He graduated from Loy Norrix High School in 1963, before proudly enlisting in the United States Air Force. Throughout his service, he served in Vietnam, as well as Germany, Washington D.C., North Dakota and Denver, acquiring the rank of a Master Sergeant. Upon discharge, David settled in Denver with his family, where he enjoyed leading boy scouts, serving alongside his sons. He married Karla Meyers on August 11, 1990. She preceded him in death in 2019.

In his free time, David enjoyed assembling and displaying model trains. Those who knew him, knew him to be charming and personable. He will be missed dearly be his friends and family.

David is survived by his daughter, Shannon Kaufmann and husband Patrick of Kalamuzoo, MI; 2 sons, Josh Blease and fiancé, Abbey Arenas of St. Louis, MO and Brandon Blease of Bend, OR; brother, Jack Blease and wife Dorinda of Amarillo and several grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Phillip Blease; wife Karla Blease and daughter, Stephanie Nix.
