David Eldon Cosgrove, beloved father, partner, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2025, in Amarillo, Texas. He was 69 years old.
Born December 22, 1955, in Davenport, Iowa, David was a man of deep creativity, quiet strength, and enduring curiosity. From an early age, he displayed a natural athleticism and a sharp mind—qualities that shone through on the baseball field and later in all aspects of his life. His love for music, especially the piano, offered him a lifelong refuge and a way to express what words often could not.
David was the proud founder of DC Designs, a creative venture through which he designed and fabricated custom mugs and shirt memorabilia for military units and private clients. His designs reflected not only his eye for detail but also his deep respect for service and legacy.
In his later years, David became a familiar and friendly face at the deli counter of United Market Street in Amarillo. There, he found joy in everyday conversations, offering customers more than just service—he offered connection. His warmth, dry wit, and easy presence were deeply felt by those who came to know him.
David is survived by his loving daughter, Hannah Cosgrove, who was the light of his life, and by his devoted partner, Amelia Gutierrez, who remained by his side with unwavering love and care. He also leaves behind two beloved sisters, Cate and Sherilyn. He will be remembered not only for his creativity and intelligence but for his generosity of spirit, his quiet perseverance, and his unshakable loyalty to those he loved.
