Gaylon Wayne Harden, 72, of Amarillo, Texas passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2024.
Gaylon was born on November 20, 1951 in Farmersville, Texas to Robert Lee and Wavie Harden. He grew up in Farmersville and started working at a young age of 6 selling flower seeds and Grit magazines door to door. Gaylon worked hard his entire life to support his family. He drove a truck for 20 years before being able to fulfill a lifelong dream of being an Entrepreneur and opening his own Boot Repair Shop. He married Janet Wiest on January 3, 2004. Gaylon and his wife, Janet ran multiple boot and shoe repair shops in Wichita Falls and eventually purchased one in Amarillo, where he was able to retire.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Wavie Harden and a sister, Pauline Downey.
Gaylon is survived by his wife, Janet Harden; three daughters, Rebecca Kirk and husband Levi of Fort Collins, CO, Gayla Martin and husband Jay of Ivanhoe, TX and Sheri Harden of McKinney; two sons, Kelly Harden of Austin, TX and Jim Harden of Emory, TX; four granddaughters, Rylie, Harper, Kinley and Presli three grandsons, Carter, Jed and Austin and a great grandson.
