Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Gregory (Greg) Clarke,
65, in Amarillo, Texas, on November 21, 2025.
Greg was born on December 10, 1959, in Amarillo to Marvin and Jennifer
Clarke. He graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1978. He was well known
for his quick wit and dry sense of humor.
Growing up, he enjoyed time drag racing with his father. Later, he would work
delivering liquor to local establishments and had many humorous stories
about those times. He married his wife Melissa in 1983 in Las Vegas, NV. He
then began delivering bread for Mrs. Baird's, later owning and operating his
own route where he was known as the "bread man" and on occasion, the
"bread god".
He enjoyed being on his boat at the lake fishing and skiing with his family and
friends. He also found great joy in coaching his children in sports when they
were young and teaching them to play games – including cards and in
particular, Texas Hold 'Em. More recently he had a fondness for hearts, gin
rummy and crossword puzzles.
Greg is survived by his wife Melissa and their two children, daughter Candace
Benenati and husband Danny Dann, his son, Kash Clarke, three grandchildren:
Melody Hukill, Dylan Hukill, Maverick Grissett and son-in-law Michael Grissett.
He is also survived by his sisters, Suzette Scott and Julie Stiles with husband
Milton, stepmother, Kathy Clarke, as well as five nieces and one nephew.
Greg was preceded in death by his parents Marvin Clarke, Jennifer Clarke and
his beloved daughter, Miranda Grissett, and sister-in-law Danetta Wesley.
Greg will be dearly missed but remembered with love and fondness by his
family and those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
