Obituary

Harold "Ty" Taylor Gillespie Jr., 67, of Amarillo, Texas passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2025. He was born in Guymon, Oklahoma to Beatrice Bledsoe. Ty attended Dumas High School.

He was a loving and caring person, who loved the outdoors, gardening, the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Longhorns. Ty enjoyed having a good time, never turning down a cold beer or the volume on the radio. He took care of his beloved mother for years, after his dad passed away. Ty cherished spending time with his family and friends. He was a hard worker no matter where he worked, always giving his best. Ty was a District Manager for Mmeco of South Texas, he built rollercoasters, did construction and carpentry. He was a jack of all trades, who came from a long line of welders and he always kept up with the trade. Ty was a simple man and could make friends without even trying. In his later years, Ty became ill with COPD and worked for Walmart the last couple of years he was able too. He enjoyed cooking, feeding people and eating. Ty was the father of a wonderful son, Wesley that he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by his father, Verne Foreman; his son, Wesley Gillespie; a sister, Sheryl Warlick and his late wife, Angie Gillespie.
