Helen Bender, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother,
passed away on April 21, 2025 in Amarillo, Texas, at the age of 78.
Born on May 6, 1946 in Cyril Oklahoma, Helen lived a life rich in love
and family. She was preceded in death by her adopted parents, Kenneth
and Helen Ledgerwood, her biological parents, and her cherished
siblings: Chaeles Remy, Meredith Weimer, Dale Remy, Paul Remy, Bobby
Joe, Louis Remy, Louise Ingall, and Patsy Jacobi.

Helen is survived by her devoted children: Rodney Dale Smith, Shannon
Bender and his wife Judy, and Laurisa Rodriguez and husband Gabriel.
She took immense pride in her grandchildren, who include Ashley Nicole
Griego and her husband Mario, Austin Dale Smith and his wife Jazzmyn,
Rowdy Dale Smith, William Tabor, Lacey Sue Ray, Shanna Kay Marie
Wilson and her spouse Edwin, Skylar Dawn Bender and her spouse James
Robinson, Storm David Robert Bender and his spouse Jessica, Amber
Burries, and Christopher Pruitt and his wife Shyanne. Helen's legacy
extends to her great-grandchildren: Braxton Dale Brown, Tharan Mark
Griego, Ryder Dale Smith, Avery Maddox Griego, Emilia Jade Smith, Crew
Dale Smith, Brileigh Ortiz, Zayleigh Ortiz, Lilly Chappell, Enzlee
Wilson, Karlee Wilson, Jaycee Ray, Spencer Emmons, Abel Emmons, Corbin
Bender, Easton Bender, Breyon Burries, Ian Griggs, Kenzie Griggs,
Tayven Pruitt, and Baby Pruitt. She is also survived by many nieces
and nephews who will cherish her memory.

Helen attended school in Borger, Texas, where she formed friendships
and created memories that would last a lifetime. Her warmth, kindness,
and resilient spirit touched all who knew her, and her legacy will
live on through her family.
