Obituary

Helen "Kay" Swinford, 70, of Amarillo passed away on June 15, 2024. Celebration of Life services will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 24, 2024 at Brown Funeral Directors of Borger with Bruce Riddling officiating.

Kay was born on February 11, 1954 in Pampa to Leonard and Hellen Foster. She was raised in Borger, where she graduated from Borger High School in 1972. She worked as a composer as well as the business officer manager for the Borger News Herald for over 30 years. Upon retirement, she joined her husband, Ted Swinford to help at the Triple S Ranch near Spring Creek. She was a longtime member of Central Baptist Church of Borger. Above all, she loved her family and spending quality family time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Kay is survived by her 2 daughters, Marsha Bell and husband Rodney of Stinnett and Amy Merrick and husband Keith of Amarillo; step-son, Cory Swinford of Borger; 2 brothers, Donnie Foster of Borger and Kenny Foster and wife, Jane of Lillian, AL; grandchildren, Mallory Bell and fiancé, Bijan Faghih, Parker Bell and fiancé, Hope Babb, Devon Mizar, Justin Merrick and fiancé, Kaylee Johnson, Jenae Canada and husband James, Cade Swinford and Kylee Swinford; great grandchildren, Madyx, Samira, Grayson, Macie, Gracie and Kam; brother-in-law, Gary Curran; nephew, Tony Curren and her nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Jo Marie Curren and her husband, Ted Swinford.
