Jacqueline Kay Dannecker Hamby was born on July 2, 1937, in Alva, Oklahoma to Dorothy Mae Jones Dannecker and J H Dannecker. She married Joe Richard Hamby in 1956. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother that cherished her family deeply. She was known for her feisty spirit, Jackie was never afraid to speak her mind; often doing so with love and sincerity. Her candid nature endeared her to those around her. She was an accomplished woman, dedicating 20 years to Amarillo College and retiring from Crouse Hinds after 25 years of service. Jackie's passion for reading was unmatched; she was an avid reader who could devour multiple books in a day, and her Kindle library was extensive. Family was everything to Jackie, she was renowned for her culinary skills, particularly her mac'n'cheese. And for always being ready to fulfill her grandchildren's requests. Her family, including her children, grandchildren, and the newly arrived great grandchildren, will forever cherish the memories of gatherings filled with laughter and delicious meals. Jackie leaves behind a legacy of love, humor and resilience.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J H and Dorothy Dannecker, her brother, Jerry Dannecker, her grandson, Taylor Chapman and her husband Joe Richard Hamby.
She is survived by her three children, Connie Chapman and husband Myron, Keyra Erwin and husband Scott and Jeffrey Hamby and her grandchildren, Courtney Erwin, Cali Breeding and husband Creede, Clay Erwin and wife Aryn and Jake Hamby and her great grandchildren, Annie Breeding, Sloan Breeding and Claire Erwin.
