It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Jacqueline Walker on September 23, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on December 7, 1942, in South Dakota, Jacqueline fondly cherished her childhood home before moving to Hereford, Texas, as a young girl. She spent many happy years there, making lifelong friends and creating countless memories.
Jacqueline was a devoted Christian, and her faith was a guiding light throughout her life. She dedicated herself to the world of books, working as a librarian in the Dallas Public Library System for most of her career. After many years in Dallas, she returned to Hereford in 2015 to be close to her family, who were her greatest joy.
An avid reader and talented artist, Jacqueline found happiness in drawing and spent hours lost in the pages of a good book. She had a special place in her heart for her many cats over the years, each one bringing her companionship and delight. Jacqueline loved her neighbors in Hereford, sharing a particularly close bond with her friend Debbie Garcia. She and her lifelong friend Marty Freeman envisioned growing old together, side by side in rocking chairs, reminiscing about their adventures.
Jacqueline will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Betty Sue and Francis Elaine and her brother, Gene.
