It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved James Sosa, who left us on October 27, 2025, at the age of 55. Born on August 24, 1970, in Amarillo to Richard and Guadalupe Sosa, James was a bright light in our lives and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.

James graduated from Caprock High School and had a larger-than-life personality. He was happiest when spending time with his father and loved sharing his passion for football, especially when cheering on his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys. With a kind heart, James was always ready to lend a hand to others, even in the face of his own struggles. His smile was contagious, and his positive outlook made everyone around him feel uplifted.

A true lover of life, James had a playful spirit that shone through whenever he hit the slots or tried his luck with lottery tickets. His zest for adventure and fun will always be remembered.

He is survived by his mother, Guadalupe Sosa of Lubbock; 4 sisters, Virginia Gutierrez of Lubbock, Maria Sandoval of Lubbock, Dora Gonzales of Amarillo and Elizabeth Vasquez and husband Joe Ray of Perryton as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins left to cherish his memory.

James was preceded in death by his father, Richard Sosa and his brother, Marty Sosa.
