It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jean Marie Beaty, a beloved matriarch, devoted friend, and cherished member of the Amarillo community. Jean was born on October 18, 1935, to Joseph and Artie Bonner and spent her entire life in the warmth of the community she loved.
On December 4, 1954, Jean married the love of her life, William Beaty. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with joy, laughter, and countless cherished memories. Jean worked as a home typist for Boys Ranch for over 15 years and later contributed her talents to Corporate Systems for another 15 years, exemplifying hard work and dedication throughout her career.
A lifelong member of the Methodist Women's Society and the American Contract Bridge Club, Jean enjoyed many friendships forged through shared interests. Her devotion to her faith was evident as a steadfast member of the Washington Avenue Christian Church, where she served her community with love and compassion.
In her free time, Jean found joy in creative pursuits such as cross stitching, diamond art, and crafting beloved crochet scrubbies. She treasured her moments spent fishing and playing cards with family and friends, creating memories that will endure in their hearts. An accomplished pianist, Jean brought music into the lives of those around her, and her famous divinity was a sweet treat that many looked forward to sharing during the holidays.
Jean's greatest life lessons, centered on the importance of helping others and always giving back, inspired those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy of love and kindness will continue to guide and uplift her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Beaty; son, Gary Beaty; daughter, Connie Walker and husband Mark; grandson, Blake Walker and wife Randi and great granddaughter, Lottie Walker.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents; 2 sisters, Betty Norman and Barbara Black and her daughter-in-law, Susan Beaty.
