Jeanette was born on November 4, 1929 to Charles Monroe and Sidney (Hoover) Monroe. She attended school in Clayton, NM where she graduated in 1947. She was married to Rex Mangelsdorf on June 9, 1951 in Clayton, NM. She and Rex farmed and ranched up until they purchased the Deluxe Bootshop in Clayton. They sold it in 1978 and opened a bootshop in Dalhart, TX that they operated for 25 years until they retired. Jeanette lost the love of her life, Rex in 2017 at which time she moved in with her daughter, Shelley in Amarillo, TX. Jeanette loved camping, fishing, and most of all, spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Shelley Mangelsdorf of Amarillo, TX; 3 sons, Larry Mangelsdorf of Benson, AZ, Randy Mangelsdorf of Clayton, NM and Keith Mangelsdorf of Early, TX; 10 grandchildren, Martin Mangelsdorf, Danelle Mangelsdorf Meyer, Tracy Martinez, Dustin Mangelsdorf, Dee Mangelsdorf, Randi Jo Snell, Kansuz St. Clair, Shane Mangelsdorf, Chance Field and Taos Field and 24 great grandchildren.
