It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jerry Myers, born on July 10, 1958, who departed this life on February 10, 2026. A cherished father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, Jerry leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion to his family. He is survived by his daughter, Tai Palomino and her husband, Zack; his son, Shawn Myers and his wife, Grace; and his beloved siblings: Darla Yowell and her husband, Jimmy; Patty Conner; Terri Gammage and her husband, Ronnie; Carol Vansickle and Rick Myers.
Jerry was the proud grandfather of Tristin Von and his wife, Salia; Ryan Myers; Nate Palomino; Ana Palomino; Katie Palomino; Emily Palomino and bonus grandchildren Thomas Northcott; Jada Swain and Rae Harper. He also had the joy of being a great-grandfather to Elijah and Violet.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Carla Myers.
Jerry joined the Marines in 1977 and served with great honor until 1982 when he was medically discharged. A graduate of Amarillo College, Jerry enjoyed a fulfilling life characterized by his passions for cooking, fishing, camping, building motors, loving his pets and playing senior softball. Above all, he cherished the time spent with his family, creating lasting memories that will be cherished by all who knew him.
Funeral services for Jerry Myers will be held on February 18, 2026 at 2:00PM, at Shafer Mortuary Services Funeral Home 1502 S. Cleveland St Amarillo, TX 79102. Family and friends are invited to join in celebrating Jerry's life and the joy he brought to all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Jerry's spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, and he will be deeply missed.
