Jessy Muriel Dunavin, Jr. (Buster) 65, of Amarillo passed away on April 29, 2025.
Jessy was born on November 6, 1959 in Fort Worth, Texas. He spent most of his life in the Texas Panhandle and was known for his hard-working spirit, sense of humor, and loyalty to those he loved.
Jessy worked at Countertops of Amarillo, where he was known as someone you could always count on. He was dependable, steady, and took pride in a job well done. Outside of work, Jessy was a lifelong fan of the Dallas Cowboys and loved watching basketball. He also had a deep love for music and singing, often filling the room with a tune and a smile.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gerlinde Ann Dunavin; his father, Jessy Muriel Dunavin, Sr.; his mother, Willie Dunavin; and his brother, Steven Dunavin.
Jessy is survived by two sisters, Rhonda Keel and husband Greg, and Pam McReynolds, both of Amarillo; and two brothers, Tim Dunavin and wife DeNeise of Austin, and Kevin Dunavin of Irving. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews who affectionately called him "Uncle Bubba"- a name that captured his warmth, humor and love they had for him.
