It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved brother, John Glen Hargrave, at the age of 59. He left this world on January 24, 2026. at his home in Amarillo TX surrounded by the love of his family.
Born January 22, 1967, in Amarillo, TX, to his late mother Donna Higgins McCafferty and late father Johnny Hargrave. John had a lifelong passion for playing guitar and writing songs, which brought him immense joy and creative fulfillment. His love for music is an unforgettable legacy, which will be remembered fondly by those who knew him. At the time of his death, John has been employed with Greyhound for about 12 years. He worked in the security integration field for many years, spending most of those years at Convergint Technologies in Carrollton Texas. For about a decade, he drove a long haul truck for various companies, where he was always accompanied by a beloved cat who kept him company as he travelled the United States. John was a kind and gentle man who loved his family and will be deeply missed.
John is survived by his loving stepfather, Robert McCafferty, sisters Leah Payne (Steve) of Van Alstyne TX, Deena Bullard (Brad), Charrisse Arnett and Christie Treadway (Barry) all of Amarillo TX, a brother Michael Hargrave of Port Arthur TX, an Aunt, Charline Sprouse of Odessa TX along with several cousins, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He is proceeded in death by his beloved grandparents Charles and Maxine Higgins, his loving mother, his father and a brother, Bret Hargrave.
The family requests that donations be made to the Harrington Cancer and Health Foundation which supports patients at the Harrington Cancer Center in Amarillo, TX.
