It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Lucero, who left us on August 11, 2025, at the age of 51. Born on January 31, 1974, in Portales, New Mexico, John was raised in Clovis, NM, where he developed a love for life and a passion for mechanics. After moving to Amarillo in 2010, he built a successful career as a diesel mechanic and proudly owned Integrity Equipment Repair since 2013.
John married the love of his life, Carmen Hall, on September 10, 2011. Their bond was a beautiful testament to love and partnership, filled with laughter and adventures. Together, they created a warm and loving home where their family flourished.
John had a zest for life that was contagious. He loved riding his motorcycle, working on cars, and expressing his creativity through dancing, singing, and art with his children. His playful spirit and passion for life will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him. John had a strong relationship with God. He belonged to Arena of Life Church and had a blessed life with the Lord Jesus by his side.
John is survived by his beloved wife, Carmen Lucero of Amarillo; children, Monique Pacheco and husband Stephen of Odessa, Angelica "Samantha" Lucero of Odessa, Bishop Lucero and wife Belinda of North Dakota, Mirakle Lucero of Amarillo and Isabella Lucero of Amarillo; 3 grandchildren, Ares Pacheco, Anthonie Garcia and Mylez Garcia who will carry his memory in their heart forever.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Just as he wished, there will be no funeral or service for John. Instead, he wanted his family to take a trip together—laughing, loving, and making memories—just like he treasured most in life. His wife, children,
and grandchildren were his everything. John often said with a smile, "God is so big, He will find
me anywhere!" We rest in the promise of God's Word: "Then the dust [out of which God made
man's body] will return to the earth as it was, and the spirit will return to God who gave it." –
Ecclesiastes 12:7 AMP For John, faith was certain and family was what mattered most. His
greatest joy was being with the ones he loved, and that love will carry on in every hug, every
story, and every shared moment together.
