John Tijerina, 67, of Amarillo, Texas passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2026. He was born on May 13, 1958, in Corpus Christi, Texas to Augustine Tijernia and Frances Elisondo.

John faithfully served his country in The United States Marine Corps. He enjoyed playing pool and fixing up old cars in his spare time. John loved spending time with his family and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Elosiea Tijerina; his father, Augustine Tijerina; two uncles, Joe Tijernia and Lorenzo Tijerina; two aunts, Vicky Gonzales Recardo Tijerina and Julia Tijerina and a cousin, Rudy Tijerina.

John is survived by his mother, Frances Gonzales; a sister, Lupe Tijernia; six brothers, Gus Tijerina, Carlos Tijerina, Robert Tijerina, David Tijerina, Roland Tijerina and Tom Tijerina and two nephews, Bobby Contreraz and Andy Gonzalez.
