Jonathan, or "Pops" as he was affectionately known, was born on February 6, 1970 in Bayshore, NY. He was raised in Bayshore, NY, before moving to Florida and eventually settling in Amarillo in 2016. He worked security at William-Floyd School in New York for close to 4 years and worked in landscaping and groundskeeping as well as pet care. He loved his family and was a loving Papa to his grandchildren.

He is survived by his fiancé, Kelly Vitteli; 4 daughters, Jeannie Hoek of Florida, Sheryl Hayes of New York, Ashley Wilk-Murphy and husband Hauk and Nicole Vitteli and Rob VanOstrand, all of Amarillo; 3 sons, Anthony Vitteli of New York, Eric Lahr of Florida and Steven Lahr and wife Ashley of Florida; brother, Mike Suarez; grandchildren, Alyce Seal, Rayne Seal, Darrell Scheib-Seal, Bentley Ivy, Logan Vitteli and Alex Vitteli.
