It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Jose Martinez's passing on January 17, 2026, at the age of 64. Born on February 10, 1961, in Alice, TX, Jose was a true Texan at heart. His family relocated to Canyon, TX, when he was a child, and he attended Canyon High School.

Jose was the kind of guy who brought joy wherever he went. He had a knack for fixing things, whether it was construction, concrete work, or mechanics—if something was broken, Jose was your man. His smile was infectious, and his love for life and family was evident in everything he did.

Jose is survived by his beloved mother, Teresa Martinez; sisters Maria Stacy, Esther Lopez, Victoria Martinez, and Gloria Sanchez, as well as brothers Reducindo Martinez, Tito Martinez, Genaro Martinez, Jr., Tino Martinez and Abraham Martinez. He was preceded in death by his father, Genaro Cruz Martinez, Sr., and brothers Juanito and Pablo Martinez.
