Obituary

Joshua Don Clay, 42, of Amarillo, TX, was called to his eternal home May 12, 2024. A service to celebrate his life will be held Wednesday, May 15, at 2:00pm at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church in Abilene. Rodney Watson and Dr. John Whitten will officiate. Visitation will be at 1:00 at the church.

Josh graduated from Seminole High School and later earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Wayland Baptist University. He spent 18 years working at Cal Farley's Boys Ranch. His life's calling was helping the young people there find purpose and hope. He had a strong passion for his kiddos, loving and nurturing them. He longed for each to have a bright future.

Josh loved annual Lake City, CO, family trips and enjoyed golf trips with his brother Kaleb and good friends Eric and Lance Sheets. If the Mavericks, Cowboys or Rangers were playing, you can be sure he was texting his Aunt Karrie and both were in team gear. Family was everything to him. His most cherished role in life was that of Daddy to Noah and Avery.

Josh is survived by his children Avery Rose and Noah James of Boys Ranch, his parents Randy and Kelley Clay of Abilene, three brothers Kaleb Clay and wife Michelle and their children Kendall and Kennedy, and Micah Clay and wife Kim and their children Hudson and Madelynn all of Abilene, Daniel Clay and wife Lauren and their children Smith, Henry, and Penny of Dallas, his grandmother Jo Lynn Maddin of Forney, aunts and uncles Greg and Karrie Pharris of Forney, Curtiss and Ramona Craddock of Hollis, OK, and Rick and Dasha Clay of Childress, and several cousins. He was preceeded in death by grandparents Don Maddin, Ada Clay, and Lee Clay.
