Kathryn Lynn Ozier, lovingly known as "Kathy," passed away peacefully on August 21, 2025, in
Amarillo, Texas, at the age of 76.
Born on March 1, 1949, in Springfield, Illinois, to Virgil and Eloise Hearin, Kathy lived a life
marked by love, laughter, and generosity. She was preceded in death by her parents, who instilled
in her the values of compassion and kindness that she carried throughout her life.
After retiring, Kathy moved from Dallas to Amarillo in 2016 to be closer to her beloved
grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family was the center of her world, and she
cherished every moment spent with them.
Kathy is survived by her children, Eric and his wife Hope and Adam and his partner Keith; her
grandchildren, Cody Hofmann and his wife, and Tyler Hofmann; as well as her five adored
great-grandchildren.
Those who knew Kathy will remember her quick wit and sharp sense of humor, which
brightened any room she entered. She was also deeply passionate about serving others,
dedicating her time and resources to charities that worked to address social injustices and support
marginalized communities.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Kathy's honor to
organizations supporting social justice causes—reflecting her lifelong commitment to making the
world a more compassionate place.
Kathy's warmth, laughter, and unwavering love will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on
in the hearts of all who knew her.
