Lanny was born on September 20, 1950 in Amarillo to Ira and Leona Potts. He was raised in Amarillo, graduating from Palo Duro High School in 1968. He enlisted in the United States Navy, where he proudly served in the Vietnam War until his honorable discharge. Here, he married Tatyana Belyaeva on May 26, 2002. Together they made many memories and enjoyed riding motorcycles and playing at the casinos. He enjoyed music of all types and played in a band when he was younger. Lanny worked as a HVAC technician, previously employed at Bell Helicopter, Pratt's Plumbing and Electric and retired at the City Of Amarillo.
Lanny is survived by his wife, Tatyana Potts of Amarillo; 2 daughters, Leslie Potts of Seattle, WA and Lani Hooser and husband Joseph of Amarillo; son, Brandon Anderson of Colorado; grandchild, Aurora Harrison and husband Ashton Great grandchildren, Inri and Arrow Harrison, of Lake Arrowhead, CA; nephews, Mike Pickett and wife Kim of Baxter Springs, KS, Tim Potts and wife Lori of Baxter Springs, KS, Anthony Potts of Pensacola, FL, Mike Moutos of Amarillo and Mark Moutos of San Antonio and nieces, Tanya Selman of Amarillo and Stacy Hennessey of Memphis, TN and Antonetta Simmons and husband Jimmy of Memphis, TN.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Irene Moutos and brother, Emil Potts.
