Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Linda Sue “Susie” Saul, age 70, who departed this life on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, in Amarillo, Texas. Born on July 2, 1956, Susie was a cherished mom, grandmother—affectionately known as “Mom,” “Glinda,” and “Sue Sue”—sister, and friend, known for her unwavering strength and gentle spirit.

Susie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gordon Thomas “Tom” “Pop-Pop” Saul, with whom she shared 40 wonderful years. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Ronnie Cromer, and her parents, R.D. and Aleene Cromer.

Susie is survived by her daughters, Shanna Saul, Patricia Saul, and Journee Widowski (Evan Widowski); her sons, Dayton Saul (Robbye Fletcher), Matthew Saul (Nikki Ramirez), and Austin “Big Sexy” Mosher (Megan Mosher); and her siblings, Shirley Blair and Jerry Cromer. She took great joy in spending time with her grandchildren, Sunshine Lane (Hunter Higgins) and Trinity Olivarez, as well as her great-grandchildren, Everett and Jonah Widowski.

A woman of profound faith, Susie was known for her patience, determination, and generous heart, always putting the needs of others before her own. She possessed a zest for life, including a love for reading and crocheting, as well as a fondness for frequent visits to Walmart. Susie especially enjoyed attending her granddaughters’ tennis matches, where she meticulously kept score, demonstrating her unwavering support for her family. She also had a playful sense of humor and was well known for one of her favorite sayings, "You get what you get, and you don't throw a fit!"—a phrase that brought smiles to those around her and perfectly reflected her practical, positive outlook on life.

A memorial service to honor Susie’s life will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Shafer Mortuary Funeral Home.
