Loren Robert (Rob) Dewald, (58), of Midland, Texas, passed away following a heart attack
on February 18, 2024. He was born to Donna and Robert (Bob) Dewald on March 4, 1965
in Hardin, Montana, where he was raised on the family farm. At age 20, Rob met and then
married Linda (Lee) Dewald a year later in 1986, and together they raised four children.
This world was so blessed by the nearly 59 years that Rob spent earthside, and his family
will miss him more than words can express. He loved the Lord with his whole heart and
showed that love through his selflessness with his family. He was always engaged in his
children's lives, and everything he did was for his family, who always knew how much he
loved them. He was a jack of all trades and a master of several, and the first to offer his
help whenever he saw a need. He was both the most generous man and the hardest worker
anyone knew, but he worked hard so that he could play hard. He loved playing games and
spending time together, making memories at home and on vacation. He loved the beach,
but especially when his family was right there with him. Deep sea fishing was his favorite
hobby, and he was an expert Catan player.
Rob is survived by his wife, Linda; his children, Kayla (Micah) Friend, Anna (Collin) Harrell,
Taylor (Jessa) Dewald, Ryan Dewald (fiance Paige); his grandchildren, Hunter, Isaiah, and
Theo Harrell, Leroy Dewald, Blakeleigh Dewald; his mother, Donna Dewald; his sisters,
Kathi (Brent) Renier, Anita (Jason) Foster; and many extended family and friends. Rob was
preceded in death by his father, Bob Dewald.
Rob's family will host a Celebration of Life service on Sunday, March 24, 2024 in Rapid
City, South Dakota. Please email
