Lorie Dean Rodgers, 70, of Amarillo passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2023.
Lorie was born on August 13, 1953 in Topeka, KS to Charles and Mary Wingren. She did many things for a living throughout her life, including owning the Gift Basket, working in labor in delivery at Northwest Texas Hospital and was currently employed at the Cadillac Ranch Gift Shop, where she made custom jewelry from the paint chips of cars, something she always enjoyed. Those who knew her knew her to have a huge heart, always trying to help others and a contagious smile that was relentless, regardless of her circumstances.
Above all, Lorie loved her family. She would always put the needs of her kids, grandkids and great grandkids above her own. Her biggest loves were her husband, Larry Rodgers, who passed away in 2009, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a great mom, wife and most of all, Meme.
Lorie is survived by her daughter, Katie Holcomb of Oregon; sons, Larry Kline of Denver, CO; Charles Rodgers of Yukon, OK, Chris Rodgers of Grand Prairie and Dean Rodgers of Amarillo; sister, Vada Lent of New Mexico; 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Larry Dee Rodgers and a sister, Charlene.
