It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Lynda Wardlaw, who left this world on May 1, 2026, at the age of 77. Born on April 3, 1949, in Snyder, Texas, Lynda lived a full life, filled with love, creativity, and devotion to her family.

A proud graduate of Snyder High School, Lynda found her soulmate in Mike Wardlaw while attending West Texas A&M University. They tied the knot in 1968 in Snyder, and together they built a life that spanned Snyder, Amarillo, and Dimmitt. Lynda spent much of her career as a financial accounts manager, wrapping up her professional journey at West Texas A&M, where she left a lasting impression.

Beyond her work, Lynda was a gifted artist, known for her stunning murals that adorned various locations across the Panhandle. Her paintings of landscapes and horses captured the essence of the Texas spirit, and her creativity didn't stop there. She enjoyed crafting and spent countless hours birdwatching, especially in the serene setting of her backyard pond.

Family was Lynda's greatest joy. She took immense pride in being a Grammy to her grandchildren and a great-grandmother to her cherished great-grandchild. Her love for them knew no bounds, and her legacy will live on through their memories.

She is survived by her husband, Mike Wardlaw of Canyon; 2 sons, Lawrence "Brac" Wardlaw and wife Kerri of Boerne, TX and Sheridan "Dax" Wardlaw and wife Kari of Amarillo; grandchildren, Kelyn, Kaili, Kale, Sebastian, Savanah, Trazzi, J.T., Travis and Amity and 3 great grandchild, Lucas, Riley and Nate.

Lynda was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Cleo Sawyer; 2 sisters, Janice Cates and Dorothy Newton and 3 brothers, James Sawyer, Doug Sawyer and Travis Sawyer.
