It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of Marvetta Coker on November 9, 2025, at the age of 64. Born on February 3, 1961, Marvetta was a vibrant character known for her love of life, her family, and her many passions.
Marvetta was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bucky Coker, as well as her parents, Pat Freeman and Marvin Smith. She was also preceded by her dear sister, Patsy Denny, and her brother, Ritchie Freeman.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories through her children, Brandi Michelle Wrinkle, Tambra Downey (and husband, Michael Sustaita), Clinton Wrinkle (and wife, Lincy), and Tony Wrinkle (and wife, Brandi Rae). Marvetta will be fondly remembered by her siblings, Karen McDonald Martin, Lisha Smith, Andy Justus and wife Michelle, and Dale Smith. The joy of her life continued through her many grandchildren: Shauntae Walls, Adryana Wrinkle, Brandon Wrinkle, David Crowder, Autumn Wilson, Jeremiah Wilson, Sage Biggers, Alyssa Plaster, Aura Wrinkle, Dakota Wrinkle, Aidan Aguirre, and Rylie Holt and Uriah Rodriguez; as well as her great-grandchildren, Zariyah, Asiah, Aiden, Brynleigh, and Kai.
Marvetta had a spirit that shone brightly in everything she did. She had a knack for crosswords, a love for old TV shows, and a passion for coloring and antique dolls. A talented cook, she once prepared meals for country music star Alan Jackson and spent many years driving a truck, bringing her adventures behind the wheel to life.
Marvetta will be missed immensely, but her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
