Matthew was born January 22, 1992 in Hobbs, NM. He moved to Amarillo as a child, graduating from Tascosa High School in 2009. 7 years ago, he met the love of his life, Allyson Burke, and the two of them have been inseparable since. In 2019, Matthew began employment at Walmart in preventative maintenance. He was known to be able to fix anything with a motor and used his skills at work, as well as helping any friend in need. He was a jokester, always making others laugh and happy, even on days that were hard for him. His friends and family considered him to be goofy and silly, but always the biggest heart. His 2 biggest passions were grilling and being a father, playing with his son and he enjoyed playing video games, especially with Ally.

Matthew is survived by his wife, Ally Burke; son, Alister Remington Handlon; mother, Amanda Skeen and step-father, Ronald Skeen; father, Tommie Michael Dodson, Jr.; brother, Tommye Michael Dodson, III and fiance Kassandra Davis; grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Diaz; Parents-in-law, Todd and Tyra Bufkin; niece Aleigha Dodson; nephews, Sebastian Dodson and Jayden Perez and his beloved dogs, Zeus and Ollie.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather.
