Obituary

Melva Perez, 71, of Hereford, Texas passed away peacefully on Friday, September 6, 2024.

Melva was born on April 14, 1953 to Oscar and Ruby (Trevino) Lamb. She worked at Best Western in Hereford for 17 years. There her customers became her friends and her coworkers were like family. Melva took any opportunity to teach the bible to anyone who would listen. She was a dedicated mother, wife and devout Jehovah's Witness. Melva had a strong faith in God and a strong hope of a resurrection according to what the bible teaches in John 5: 28 &29.

Melva impacted the lives of everybody she met whether by accident or coincidence and with that initial encounter left a special place in their hearts. The same goes for how she raised her children to always love Jehovah and be kind to each other. She was a jokester at heart who up until her passing was still showing her children that even through the toughest times that a smile or a laugh could turn a dark day into a joyous one! Melva loved her husband, children and grandchildren with all of her heart and made her house into a home that served Jehovah. She had a love for music and singing along with a joy for collecting knick knacks and enjoyed shopping online and coloring by numbers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Ruby Lamb and a grandson, Alex Edrei Perez.

Melva is survived by her husband of 53 years, Trinidad Perez; four daughters, Christina Rodriguez (Alex) of Amarillo, Texas, Maricela Weed (Doran) of Rosewell, New Mexico, Amanda Wright (Ronnie) of Peoria, AZ and Corina Martinez (Joshua) of Hereford, Texas; three sons, Trini Perez ( Bertha) of Amarillo, Texas, Abel Perez ( Cassandra) of Amarillo, Texas and Joel Perez (Lelana) of Castle Rock, Colorado; two sisters, Terry Everett (David) of Farewell, Texas and Lilia Lamb of Belton, Texas; her brother, Oscar "Sunny" Lamb Jr. (Rosemary) of Plainview, Texas; eight beloved grandchildren, Ilse, Karen, Tyler, Joshua, Benjamin, Gerry, Jonah and Briseas and numerous neices and nephews.
