Michael Silveira Couto, 18, of Amarillo passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2023. Celebration of Life Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at Trinity Fellowship North Campus with Pastor Tyler Leavitt officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation at Shafer Mortuary Services Gathering Center, 308 S. Bivins St.

Michael was born on October 22, 2005 in Tulare, CA to Manuel and Linda Couto. He lived with his family in California, Colorado and Idaho before settling in Amarillo, where he was currently a senior at River Road High School. He was known to be a little shy, but had a close group of friends he cherished. Michael loved to ride motorcycles and 4 wheelers and was an avid video gamer. He loved his animals, especially his kitty, Tazzy Ball. He recently went to Portugal, where he enjoyed many memories with his parents and sisters. He loved the food there, especially the Bifanas steak sandwiches and ice cream.

Michael, I know Dad, Mom, I "Steven", Amy, and the girls love you we will truly miss you. I was talking to Dad and he showed a video of you riding the cow at home Dad and you were having a good time together. I'm honestly at a loss for words brother, we had so many plans together here. It's been truly rough since you left but, I know one day we will be reunited and we will talk and laugh again.

Michael is survived by his parents, Manuel and Linda Couto of Amarillo; brother, Steven Couto of Amarillo; 3 sisters, Amy Couto and husband Anthony Perez of California, Silvana Couto and Anna Couto, both of Amarillo; grandmother, Anselma Vaz of Amarillo; nieces and nephews, Ashley, Axel and Alexis; uncles, Joe Silveira of California and Frank Couto and wife Sharalyn of Idaho and aunt, Eulalia Costa of Portugal.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and his maternal grandfather.
