With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Nelda Joyce Fox, age 71, of Amarillo, Texas, who departed this life on July 23, 2026. Born on April 13, 1955, in Sacramento, California, Nelda was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother.

She is preceded in death by her cherished granddaughter, Cheyenne Lacy Ward, as well as her father, Ronald Thomas; her mother, Mary Ellen Sanders; and her devoted husband, Harold Dean Fox, whom she married on August 1, 1990.

Nelda is survived by her loving daughter, Brandi Nicole Ward and her husband Chad; her son, Randall Blake Reeder and his wife Lily; her sister, Amy Louise Sudbury and husband Martin; her brothers, Steve Thomas and Bill Thomas; and her adoring grandchildren, Carson Lane Ward, Cydney Lauren Ward, Caroline Rein Stambaugh, Riley Maddox Reeder, and Ryder Jax Reeder.

A proud graduate of Shamrock High School, Nelda dedicated over 35 years of her life to working at Amarillo National Bank. She was a valued member of Pleasant Valley Methodist Church and cherished the moments spent gardening, shopping, and being with her family and friends.

A Memorial service will be held at Shafer Mortuary Funeral Home on July 28, 2026, at 11:00 AM, where family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of this remarkable woman. In this time of sorrow, we invite all those who knew and loved Nelda to join us in honoring her memory.

Her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege to share in her life.
