Obituary

Orlando Garcia, Jr. a beloved family man and friend, passed away on October 5, 2025, at the age of 55. Born on September 10, 1970, in Spearman, TX, to Orlando Sr. and Dora Garcia, he grew up in Amarillo, where he graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1989.

Orlando was known for his incredible knack for fixing just about anything—cars, bikes, lawnmowers, you name it. If something was broken, you could count on him to make it right, and he took great pride in his handiwork. His hands-on skills and generous spirit earned him deep respect and love from all who knew him.

A devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Orlando could often be found cheering on his team with enthusiasm. He also enjoyed cozy evenings binge-watching his favorite show, Law & Order. Above all, he cherished his family, making birthdays, holidays, and gatherings extra special. The little ones knew him lovingly as "Papa," a title he wore proudly as he played a significant role in their lives, helping to raise many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Orlando was a comedian, who roasted anybody and everything. He loved carrot cake, beef jerky, popcorn and diet coke. He will be missed and loved everyday. Tio loved to cruise and go for rides wherever or whenever. The best Tio in the world.

He is survived by his son, Orlando "Sapito" Garcia, III of Amarillo; 2 sisters, Eugenia Garcia and partner Summer Case of Amarillo and Maria Cabrera of Amarillo as well as brother-in-law, Jose Medrano and brother-in-law, Omar Cabrera; nieces and nephews, Diane Garza and husband Raymundo, Monica Martinez and husband Eloy Alvarez, Angelina Martinez and husband Charles Mejia, Aspen Cabrera, nephew, Emanuel Garcia, Omar Cabrera, Katrina T. Cabrera and husband Daniel Balderaz and Orlando Cabrera and wife Ivet Espinosa and great nieces and nephews, Annalisia Tena, Antonio Garza, Anevaeh Garza, Andrew Garza, Alize Alvarez, E.J. Alvarez, Zacky "Chucho" Murillo, Baby Charles Mejia, Aemelia Cabrera, Ashlynn Garcia, Ainslee Cabrera, Penelope Cabrera, Abraham Espinoza, Adora Cabrera, Brezlyn Case, Ty Case, Trey Case, Allianna Balderaz and Kyng Balderaz.

Orlando was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Janet Garcia and brother-in-law, Stan "The Man" Medina and brother-in-law, David Martinez.

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
