Obituary

Patricia (Pat) Ann Boykin, age 86, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2025. Pat was born on March 31, 1938, in Cottle County in the Chalk community, to Dallas and Grace Love. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend.

Pat grew up near Cee Vee, Texas, and graduated from Paducah High School and went on to graduate from West Texas State University in Canyon, Texas. After graduating with a teaching degree, she taught at Friona High School until she married. She met the love of her life, Troy Boykin, on Main Street in Childress in 1960. Troy and Pat married on June 30, 1961, at the Methodist Church in Cee Vee, Texas. She assisted Troy with farming and ranching until they retired in 1987 and began traveling all over the United States, making lifelong friends and memories along the way. In addition to travel, Pat loved going to church, playing cards with friends, golfing, and spending time with family. She was a member of the Southside Baptist Church in Tell, Texas, for sixty-five years, and she enjoyed volunteering there and praying for church members, as well as members of her community.

She is survived by her husband Troy Boykin (Tell, TX), her son Todd Boykin and his wife Lori (Amarillo, TX), her granddaughter Katherine Boykin (Seattle, WA) and grandson Jack Boykin (Amarillo TX). She is survived by a nephew Randy Love (Austin, TX), a nephew Larry Browning and his wife Lesa (Tell, TX) a niece Julie Browning (Bowie, TX), a niece Robbie Cummins and her husband Rick (Childress, TX) and a niece Brenda Brown (St. Joe, TX) as well as other great nieces and nephews she loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dallas and Grace Love, her brother Donald Love and her sister Peggy Browning and Peggy's husband John.

Pat's memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 2:00 at First Baptist Church, Childress, Texas. A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall following the service for all attendees. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Tell Southside Baptist Church.
