Obituary

Paul was born on June 8, 1944 in Nowata, Oklahoma from Parents Claude Oliver Coonfield and Irene Coke Coonfield. Paul died on February 5, 2025 in Amarillo, Texas at his home as he desired.
Paul graduated from Nowata High School in Nowata, Oklahoma in 1962. He married Glenda Meloy on April 19, 1964 in Cushing Oklahoma. Paul was a long-time employee of Bell Helicopter and highly valued employee of Highland Park School District both of Amarillo.

Paul was an ordained minister of the International Pentecostal Holiness Church, Great Plains Conference for nearly 50 years. He has served honorable at CHC of Amarillo for over 43 years as a Bus Minister, Shut-ins Pastor, Youth worker, Sports Director and Prison Visitation Pastor. Paul was a very dependable church supporter and attendee. He will be missed.

Paul is survived by daughter Eunice Lawlis, and husband Craig Lawlis, two sons, Wayne Coonfield and Kevin Coonfield and wife Candi all of Amarillo, 4 grandchildren, Matthew Lawlis and wife Katie, Megan Lawlis, Aaiyah Taylor and Lilly Morris as well as Great Grand Children Kholee, Kaislee, Marley, and Knox.
Paul was honored to be called Pops and PaPa by loving friends of the family, Herbert, Pam, and Sarah. He was also honored to be known as Brother Paul by too many to mention.

He is preceded in death by his wife Glenda Meloy Coonfield, parents, Claude and Irene Coonfield and brother, Kenneth Alden Coonfield. Paul has two sisters; Bonnie, Birdie and two brothers; Merle and Kenneth.
