Phone Jit Hartman (Daosavanh), 67, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 2:01 pm, in a local hospital room surrounded by her family. She was born September 18, 1958, in Vientiane, Laos to her father Sengsavanh Daosavanh and mother Khambou Sengkay.
After immigrating to the United States in the Fall 1978, Phone moved to Amarillo, Texas where she secured employment at the Iowa Beef Processing Plant, working as a meat trimmer for over 40 years. Phone married Wayde Hartman in 1981 and the couple had two children, Jason Eck and Jennifer Joy. Phone subsequently completed the process to obtain her U.S. citizenship and became a naturalized citizen in April 1998.
Phone was an active member of the First Baptist Church, where she served as an international record keeper and loyal and loving friend to many church members over the years. Phone was an exceptional cook, renowned for her delicious Lao cuisine and springs rolls, which she prepared often for family and friends. Phone had a strong love for classic rock-n-roll, Lakorn (Lao Dramas), original Disney movies and was deeply passionate about feeding her birds and a squirrel daily while sitting outside and appreciating nature. Phone cherished every moment with her four beloved grandchildren, instilling a lifelong legacy of love and wisdom each of them will carry throughout their lives.
Phone was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many, and her legacy will undoubtedly continue to brighten the world.
Phone is preceded in death by her father Sengsavanh Daosavanh, mother Khambou Sengkay, and her older sister Amnoun Daosavanh, and her nephews Manou Ksor, Pele Ksor, and Marco Barrera.
She is survived by her two children: son Jason Eck Hartman, daughter Jennifer and Kris Koval; Siblings: Khamnoy and Cathy Daosavanh, Tui and Deng Prakonekham, Aie and Lith Keosy, and Mai and Thia Sopha; Four grandchildren: Melanie Koval (20), Carolyn Koval (18), Jaydyn Hartman (14), and Zachariah Koval (13);
Nieces and Nephews: Britni and Albert Medina, Jaelyn Daosavanh, Adelynn Medina, Kaylee Daosavahn, Mimi Beery and Christopher Beery, Donovan Beery, Dehlani Beery, Randy Kaysonpheth, Daren Prakonekham, Surita Keosy, Sandy Keosy-Symoungphone and Nan Symoungphone, Princeton Keosy-Symoungphone, Salma Chavez-Symoungphone, Kaylani Chavez-Symoungphone, Sandra Keosy-Sanders and Kia Sanders, Kyler Keosy, Kiana Sanders, and Lucas Barrera.
Phone lived her life with remarkable grace, unwavering devotion, and a heart overflowing with love for her family and friends. Phone adored her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and served him with steadfast faithfulness throughout her life. Her radiant presence in the lives of so many will be deeply missed.
