Robert was born on May 12, 1948 in Augsburg, Germany to Harlanda Boemmel. He immigrated from Germany as a teenager, eventually settling in Amarillo, where he met his wife, Sharon Gilchrest.
They were married on June 14, 1969. Robert was drafted into the Army and served in Vietnam with
the 1 st  Cavalry Division until he was honorably discharged.  Later he went on to work for UPS,
eventually retiring.

Throughout his years he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends at the lake, along
with the occasional trips to Las Vegas and to the horse races.  He also expressed his love for
rollercoasters.  Throughout his lifetime, Robert also enjoyed learning and reading about the
history of the world.

Robert is survived by his wife, Sharon Boemmel; sons, Jason and Sean Boemmel; sister, Doris
Phillips; 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
